Hope R Engsberg MD FAARM ABAARM
Dr. Engsberg grew up in the Ozark Mountains of south central Missouri where her interest in a medical career began at an early age. During high school, she worked in a small, rural hospital operating suite and within this environment she discovered that anesthesiology truly blended the science and art of medicine. These early years helped to form a career centered upon compassion, commitment, care and competence. In 1984 she graduated from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Medicine. She continued on at the Baylor School of Medicine in Houston, finishing an Anesthesiology Residency in 1987. She furthered her anesthesia training by completing fellowships with Dr. Michael DeBakey in both Cardiac/Transplant Anesthesiology Fellowship and Advanced Anesthesia Clinical Care. After finishing her time at Baylor, Dr. Engsberg joined the United States Army and earned the rank of Major. During this period, she was the Chief of Anesthesia for the 67th Evacuation Hospital in Wurzburg, Germany, supporting the 3rd Infantry Division and she participated in Operation Desert Storm. She concluded her service obligation at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Engsberg joined South Denver Anesthesiologists, PC in 1992 and became a full partner.
In 2001 Dr. Engsberg transitioned from her anesthesia group practice in Denver and moved into a solo career, becoming President of Mountain Anesthesia Concepts in Morrison, CO. Her focus started to shift in 2013 with a simple curiosity in the dynamics of “real” healing which began leading Dr. Engsberg away from critical care and the operating room. After greater than 35 years of working in the world of anesthesiology, Dr. Engsberg completed both a fellowship and an advanced fellowship training program in preventative medicine through the American Academy of Anti Aging and Regenerative Medicine. Since 2014, Dr. Engsberg has offered bio identical hormone replacement therapy, intravenous nutrition, and peptide therapy as complementary components within her functional medical practice, AgeWellMD. Essentially, her plan has been to extend the safe, critical care environment provided by her anesthesiology career into her outpatient preventive medicine world of anti-aging in order to reach optimal wellness. Simply, Dr. Engsberg believes each individual should have a choice for how he/she ages and each person also deserves a healthcare experience surrounded by compassion, care, commitment and competence.
Dr. Engsberg has a son, Christopher, who is a critical care paramedic in Vail, Colorado. Her daughter in law, Sue, is a business consultant. Dr. Engsberg is an avid beekeeper, SCUBA diver, and loves to spend her time at the barn with her dog, Jasper — “playing” her horse Bojangles.

Dr. Engsberg continued her anesthesia career in Denver as a partner of a large group of anesthesiologists. Since 2001, Dr. Engsberg has been the President of Mountain Anesthesia Concepts in Morrison, Colorado.
So after over 30 years of working in the world of anesthesiology, Hope Engsberg, MD, has completed yet another fellowship training program in preventive medicine through the American Academy of Anti Aging and Regenerative Medicine. This past year, she finished the advanced fellowship program in anti-aging and regenerative medicine. Dr. Engsberg enrolled in the University Of South Florida School Of Medicine’s master’s degree program in Regenerative Medicine and Nutrition.
